Breast EnhancementsIf you have decided that you would like a breast enhancement, whether to change the shape, increase the size, correct asymmetries or have a reconstruction following previous surgery, there are a number of options available to you.

Before committing to a procedure, especially surgery, you will want to explore all the options available to you. Read on to find out how our breast enhancements differ not just in terms of results but also the procedure, recovery time and maintenance over time. At EF MEDISPA, our breast enhancement procedures are performed using the latest surgical equipment and techniques and are carried out by highly skilled cosmetic surgeons in our private hospital. We offer three breast enhancement procedures: these are breast lifts, breast implants and fat transfer to the breasts. To help you decide which is right for you, we will talk through the pros and cons as well as some commonly asked questions about what to expect from each procedure.

Enhance the Shape with a Breast Lift

If you are happy with the size of your breasts but would like to address sagging, whether as a natural result of ageing or after weight loss or pregnancy, you may decide to undergo a Breast Lift. Also known as a mastopexy, a breast lift is a surgical procedure which is designed to elevate the breasts. During the procedure, our surgeon will remove excess skin and reshape the breast tissue if desired. While this procedure itself does not change the size of your breasts, it can be combined with implants or a Breast Reduction.

Breast Enlargement: Fat Transfer vs Implants

When it comes to procedures that can increase the size or your breasts, which may be referred to as breast augmentation, enhancement or enlargement, we offer two options at EF MEDISPA. They are Breast Implants, the most traditional and well-known route of breast enhancement; and the comparatively newer option of Fat Transfer to Breasts, also known as fat grafting and natural breast augmentation. While both help achieve a larger cup size, they differ in several ways.

Breast Implants

Procedure: This procedure is performed under general anaesthetic. A surgical incision will be made in a discreet location through which the implant is inserted, before being stitched closed. The surgery is usually completed within 60 minutes or less. You may go home the same day, but are welcome to stay overnight if you require. Materials: We use premium, best-quality silicone breast implants. Our implants are provided with a lifetime guarantee: in the very unlikely event of rupture or a manufacturer-directed replacement, they will be replaced without cost to you. Results: At EF MEDISPA, we prefer to achieve natural-looking results with all our procedures, including with breast implants. Implants are available in a variety of sizes, depending on the results you wish to achieve. The surgeon will discuss what volume will be best for your frame and desired results. Breast EnhancementsDowntime and healing: After the surgery, you will notice swelling and soreness to the breast area and may experience bruising. You will be provided with a support bra to wear for 6 weeks post-surgery. We recommend 10-14 days of downtime, and the swelling will begin to subside after 7 days. You will have a bespoke aftercare plan put together by our treatment co-ordinators. Longevity: Our breast implants can last a lifetime; however, you may notice that your breasts change shape naturally due to gravity. You may wish to have a follow-up procedure around 10 years after your initial surgery to maintain the shape.

Fat Transfer to the Breasts

Procedure: This combination procedure is performed under conscious sedation. Firstly, your surgeon will perform VASER liposuction on a chosen area of your body, such as the stomach, buttocks or thighs. The harvested fat is then treated before being re-injected into your breasts. The procedure usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. You can go home the same day. Materials: This procedure uses your own body fat, taken from another area of your body. It is processed in a centrifuge to remove debris, excess fluid and dead cells, leaving only the healthy and viable adipose fat cells. These are reinjected into your breasts in a way that ensures a good blood supply, giving the grafted fat cells a higher chance of survival. As there are no foreign materials being introduced, many people view this as a natural approach to breast enhancement. Results: This procedure is best suited to those who want a subtle enhancement of one to two cup sizes. It will depend on your current body shape and fat content. Your surgeon will advise you on how much fat it would be possible to transfer. Downtime and healing: The healing process for fat transfer tends to be lesser than for traditional implants as the procedure is minimally invasive. This will depend on the area of your body that you choose to have fat removed from. You can expect between 3 and 14 days of downtime following a fat transfer procedure. Longevity: A small amount of the fat that is transferred will be re-metabolised by the body following the procedure. It is also possible to lose mass in your breasts if you lose weight in the future, as the volume comes from fat cells.   If you are still unsure about which breast enhancement procedure is right for you, book a consultation with our Treatment Co-Ordinators today.
