Causes of enlarged pores on nose and cheeks and our range of large pores treatments.
Enlarged pores are a common concern for many men and women of all ages and skin types, but especially for those who suffer from oily and combination skin. This condition can be triggered by genetic disposition or skin quality. Oily skin can usually be more susceptible to enlarged pores and their appearance can be made worse when excess sebum becomes trapped in the pore, blocking it and making it appear wider and more clearly visible. This can also lead to blackheads and breakouts.
However, age can also play a significant role in the appearance of pores. Over time, the skin loses its collagen and elastin that support the pores and their natural structure becomes looser. Sun damage may also cause enlarged pores, since sun exposure can also reduce the production of collagen.

Enlarged pores mainly appear around the nose area due to the increased production of oil. It is important to avoid using skincare products that clog pores or cause your oil glands to produce more oil. Irritating products can stimulate more oil production directly in the pore. Finally, ensuring a consistent skincare routine is essential in minimising pore size and must be adhered to following any large pores treatment.
Men and women can both suffer from large pores on cheeks and the nose, but individuals suffering from oily skin are more susceptible. Large pores predominantly appear on the face, particularly you’ll find enlarged pores on nose and cheeks. However, the appearance of enlarged pores can also be noticed on body areas such as legs, arms and backs which sometimes can be a result of hair removal.
Although it may seem rational to remove as much oil as possible from your face if this is causing enlarged pores, this can actually make matters worse. Drying out your skin can contribute to loss of elasticity, prematurely ageing your skin which can further cause large pores on cheeks and the nose. What’s more, your skin may overcompensate for the dryness by producing even more sebum. You should moisturise twice a day after cleansing, using a light, water-based moisturiser.
