Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery or eye bag removal surgery, works to dramatically improve the appearance of ageing, droopy eyelids and puffy under-eye bags. The loose skin on the eyelids or in the undereye area can develop for a variety of reasons, including too much sun exposure, an unhealthy lifestyle, high cholesterol, stress or ageing.
Blepharoplasty is a cutting-edge procedure, performed inside the eyelash line and aims to tighten the skin and remove any fatty cells that most noticeably produce the puffy look. Blepharoplasty or eye bag surgery is carried out in one of our partner’s medical facilities, ensuring a private, safe and welcoming environment for our clients.
All treatments are tailored to the individual and personal experiences and results may vary. We recommend a one to one consultation with our Treatment Coordinators to discuss your treatment options.
Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that delivers incredible results with minimal downtime, inconvenience or scarring. Eye bag removal surgery at EF MEDISPA will take between 45 to 120 minutes and is performed under conscious sedation or general anaesthesia, depending on the area being treated.
You can usually expect to return to your normal day-to-day activities from between 2 – 7 days after the Blepharoplasty London procedure, so you can then enjoy the long-lasting rejuvenating results eye bag surgery will bring.
Before you proceed with Blepharoplasty, you will meet with one of our highly experienced and friendly Treatment Coordinators for an initial consultation to talk about the eye bag removal surgery in more detail. The next appointment booked will be with one of our Doctors who will go through your full medical history and discuss in detail what you are hoping to achieve from your treatment and the expected results.
Your Surgeon will decide on the type of anaesthesia that to be performed prior your to Blepharoplasty London treatment, either conscious sedation or general anaesthesia, to ensure you are feeling comfortable throughout. Your Surgeon will start by making small incisions that will either be on the crease of the upper eyelid or to the inside of the lower lash line. This is done to avoid any visible scarring after surgery. Unwanted skin and fat cells are then removed from the relevant areas that will help to significantly reduce any puffiness and sagging skin on the eyelid and/or under-eye bag area.
Blepharoplasty can also help to tighten the remaining skin around the eye area, creating an even more defined appearance. At EF MEDISPA, we offer same day blepharoplasty London that will be carried out at our partner’s private facilities, allowing you to return home after the eye bag surgery. However, if needed, we can also arrange your overnight stay.
Depending on the amount of excess fat and skin that is removed during treatment, your post-surgery recovery time will vary between approximately 2 – 7 days. A bespoke recovery plan will be discussed with your Treatment Coordinator and Surgeon, ensuring your Any follow-up or review appointments will also be scheduled to monitor your recovery progress.

Should you decide to proceed with Blepharoplasty, your next appointment with the Surgeon will be booked. During your initial appointment with the Surgeon, you will have time to discuss your medical history, desirable results and get answers to any medical questions that you may have. The Doctor will then examine you to determine whether you are suited to the Blepharoplasty procedure and explain to you exactly what the procedure entails.
If you decide to proceed, on the day of your surgery you will meet the Surgeon again to discuss any last-minute questions you may have and ask you for your final consent before proceeding. You will then be introduced to the nursing team and possibly an anaesthetist, who will be responsible for making the procedure as comfortable as possible for you.
Blepharoplasty at EF MEDISPA is performed under conscious sedation or general anaesthesia. Small incisions will be made either on the crease of the upper eyelid or inside the lower lash line. This is done to avoid any visible scarring. Unwanted skin or fat is then removed which will help to reduce any puffiness or sagging skin on the eyelid or eye bag area.
Whilst relaxing in our recovery suite, you will have the opportunity to discuss the aftercare arrangements again with your Nurse. You will then be offered a selection of snacks and herbal infusions for your enjoyment. The medical team will monitor you whilst in the recovery suite until you are ready to return home. Before leaving the facilities, your team will arrange a date for your review appointment with the Surgeon, who can provide you with the reassurance that your recovery is proceeding normally.
Blepharoplasty, or eye bag surgery, is a cosmetic procedure at EF MEDISPA that removes excess skin around the eyes, including drooping upper eyelids and excess folds of skin, also known as eye bags or pouches under the eyes.
At EF MEDISPA, our highly skilled Surgeons use the most cutting-edge surgical procedure to remove any drooping upper lids, fatty deposits and eye bags. Blepharoplasty takes place under conscious sedation or general anaesthesia, with the procedure performed by making tiny incisions along the lash line to remove excess skin and fatty deposits.
For the lower lids, a transconjunctival blepharoplasty is performed via an internal scar in the conjunctiva and therefore is not visible. For the upper lids, the incision is carefully performed along the natural crease of the eye, making any scarring virtually undetectable.
Blepharoplasty surgery is a relatively quick procedure that will take approximately 45 – 120 minutes to complete.
Recovery times can vary, however, the average is usually between 7-14 days for recovery.
At EF MEDISPA, there are many non-invasive as well as surgical solutions available to you. During your initial consultation with our Treatment Coordinator, you will be able to discuss all the different options that are available to you
